Abstract

The total workforce in August 2021 was 2,92 million people, an increase of 0,04 million people compared to February 2021. In line with the increase in the workforce, the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) also increased by 0,49 percentage points.

The August 2021 Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) was 3,77 percent, an increase of 0,39 percentage points compared to February 2021.

The working population is 2,81 million people, an increase of 0,03 million people from February 2021. The employment field that experienced the largest percentage increase was the Manufacturing Industry Sector (2,37 percentage points). Meanwhile, the sector that experienced the biggest decline was the Agriculture Sector (5,87 percentage points).

A total of 2,13 million people (75,97 percent) work in informal activities, down 2,76 percentage points compared to February 2021.

The percentage of underemployed increased by 0,42 percentage point, while the percentage of part-time workers increased by 0,86 percentage point compared to February 2021.

There are 336,05 thousand people (8,50 percent of the working age population) affected by COVID-19. Consists of unemployment due to COVID-19 (14,37 thousand people), Non-Work Force (BAK) due to COVID-19 (9,09 thousand people), temporarily not working due to COVID-19 (19,93 thousand people), and residents working who experienced a reduction in working hours due to COVID-19 (292,66 thousand people).
