Abstract

  • The number of labor force based on the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) in August 2023 is 2.99 million people, a decrease of 0.03 million people compared to August 2022. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) rose by 0.49 percentage points.
  • The working population was 2.90 million people, down by 0.02 million people from August 2022. The jobs that experienced the largest increase were Transportation and Warehousing by 0.02 million people.
  • A total of 0.74 million people (25.49 percent) worked in formal activities, an increase of 0.74 percentage points compared to August 2022.
  • The percentage of underemployed fell by 1.77 percentage points, while part-time workers rose by 2.01 percentage points compared to August 2022.
  • The August 2023 Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) was 3.14 percent, down by 0.40 percentage points compared to August 2022.
