Abstract

The number of labor force based on the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) in August 2023 is 2.99 million people, a decrease of 0.03 million people compared to August 2022. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) rose by 0.49 percentage points.
The working population was 2.90 million people, down by 0.02 million people from August 2022. The jobs that experienced the largest increase were Transportation and Warehousing by 0.02 million people.
A total of 0.74 million people (25.49 percent) worked in formal activities, an increase of 0.74 percentage points compared to August 2022.
The percentage of underemployed fell by 1.77 percentage points, while part-time workers rose by 2.01 percentage points compared to August 2022.
The August 2023 Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) was 3.14 percent, down by 0.40 percentage points compared to August 2022.
