Abstract

August 2021, 3 cities in Nusa Tenggara Timur experienced a deflation of 0,58 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104,76. Kupang City experienced a deflation of 0,56 percent, Maumere City experienced a deflation of 0,89 percent and Waingapu City experienced a deflation of 0,45 percent.
  • The deflation in August 2021 in Nusa Tenggara Timur occurred due to a decrease in the price index in 2 of the 11 expenditure groups. The expenditure group that experienced the biggest decline in the price index was the food, beverage and tobacco category, which fell by -1,77 percent.
  • In August 2021, of the 90 cities sampled by the National CPI, 35 cities experienced inflation and 55 cities experienced deflation. The city that experienced the highest inflation occurred in Kendari City at 0,62 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Tanjung City at 0,01 percent. Meanwhile, the largest deflation occurred in Sorong City at 1,04 percent and the lowest deflation occurred in the cities of Meulaboh, Sukabumi, and Timika at 0,01 percent.
