The percentage of poor people in Nusa Tenggara Timur Province in March 2021 fell to 20,99 percent

Abstract

The percentage of poor people in March 2021 was 20,99 percent, decreased by 0,22 percentage points against September 2020 and increased by 0,09 percentage points against March 2020.

The number of poor people in March 2021 was 1.169,31 thousand people, a decrease of 4,22 thousand people against September 2020 and an increase of 15,55 thousand people in March 2020.

The percentage of poor people in urban areas in September 2020 was 8,76 percent, down to 8,60 percent in March 2021. Meanwhile, the percentage of poor people in rural areas in September 2020 was 25,26 percent, down to 25,08 percent in March 2021.

Compared to September 2020, the number of poor people in March 2021 in urban areas decreased by around 0,12 thousand people (from 118,88 thousand people in September 2020 to 118,76 thousand people in March 2021). Meanwhile, rural areas decreased by around 4,1 thousand people (from 1.054,65 thousand people in September 2020 to 1.050,55 thousand people in March 2021).

The poverty line in March 2021 was recorded at Rp 415.116,-/capita/month with the composition of the food poverty line of Rp 324.545,-/capita/month (78,18 percent) and the non-food poverty line of Rp 90.571,-/capita/ month (21,82 percent).

On average, poor households in NTT Province in March 2021 had 5,54 household members. Thus, the average poverty line per poor household is IDR 2.299.743,-/poor household/month.
