A post circulating on X (formerly Twitter) categorizes the Indonesian population based on DTSEN (National Socio-Economic Single Data).

In reality,

The claim is FALSE!!

DTSEN has never been used to categorize the public based on monthly per capita expenditure; instead, it is used to rank welfare levels from Decile 1 to Decile 10. Decile 1 represents the bottom 10% welfare group, Decile 2 represents the bottom 20% welfare group, and so on.

BPS (Statistics Indonesia) has never published expenditure figures broken down by decile. Therefore, if you encounter expenditure data organized by decile, you can be certain that the data did not originate from BPS.
