Collection of Import Export Data in Border Areas

In order to improve the quality of the calculation of export and import components in Gross Domestic Product (GDP), import and export data collection activities have been carried out in border areas which include the Mota'ain State Cross-Border Post (PLBN), the National Border Management Agency (BNPP) of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, the Atambua Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office (KPPBC), the Mako Task Force Pamtas RI-RDTL Eastern Sector Yonif 742/Satya Wira Yudha, Belu Regency Health Office, Belu Regency Education Office, Forest Products Management Unit, Belu Regency Trade & Industry Office. This activity aims to obtain data on Undocumented Transactions related to import and export transactions carried out by border crossers at PLBN and unofficial routes (JTR), goods traded at the International Goods Terminal (TBI), shuttle trade in border areas, and smuggling.

Data collection was carried out by officers from the Directorate of Expenditure Balance of BPS RI (Aisah, SST, MPP), the Regional Balance and Statistical Analysis Team of BPS East Nusa Tenggara Province (Amudi Pandapotan Saragih, SST), and the Regional Balance and Statistical Analysis Team of BPS Belu Regency (Agatha Herdiani Bria SST, M.Sc., M.S.E., Robertus Bellarmino Bere S.Kom, and Martinus Melianus Taufan Klau). This data collection will be carried out in 15 PLBNs spread across 5 provinces and 15 districts/cities, from July to September 2024.
